Vendor Introduction

Huzzah and Well Met

My name is Glenn Weaver and I am the director for the first annual Richmond Fantasy Fair. I am very excited about the up and coming renaissance/fantasy fair coming to the Richmond International Raceway on July 21, and July 22. I have been working/vending renaissance festivals and fantasy based events for over fifteen years and I have never seen a time where those genres held such a possibility of being so widely accepted by the public. The attendance of such events has been steadily increasing due to such blockbuster movies as the Lord of the Rings, the Harry Potter series, and a long list of other movies and events that have been overwhelmingly successful in those genres.

I appreciate the interest you have shown in participating in the Richmond Fantasy fair. I am looking forward to working with you to make this festival a bright and shining success for both the festival itself and for you as a vendor. I feel the best ways to accomplish this are:

►Cooperation between participants (Actors, Vendors, Support Personal, Administration, ECT.)

►Advertising

►Profitable

►Entertaining

I believe that the success of any event depends upon the cooperation of everyone involved. The scope of the task we have chosen to undertake is far too large to be accomplished by only a few individuals. I also believe that experience in running these festivals are critical for their success. Also, the people who have the most experience are not just in one category of the people, but in every category. Actors are needed, vendors are vital, support personal are mandatory, an administration is necessary to direct everyone to a common goal. The better the cooperation of all of these individuals the better the final product of our fair will be for everyone.

Advertising is also a critical point for our success. Simply stated, if no one knows that the fair is going on then it is doomed to failure. The actors could put on incredible shows, the vendors could supply all of the wants of the patronage, the support functions could be flawless and everything runs together smoothly, but without customers then the purpose becomes pointless and success becomes unattainable.

Profitability cannot be overlooked when running a successful event. Unfortunately, everyone has needs that must be met. People need to eat, need to pay rent/mortgages, cover business expenses, and the list goes on and on and on….. If these conditions cannot be met then it becomes a matter of feasibility on whether the event can continue.

Entertainment cannot be overlooked either. Many have said that attitude is altitude and If people when not having a good time in what they are doing they are either not going to finish what they start or will not give everything to become successful.

The policies and the rules for the Richmond Fantasy Fair have all been set up these models in mind.

At this point, I am hoping that one thought that has crossed your mind is “HOW CAN I BE A PART OF THIS?” I have tried to keep that process as simple as possible. The links on the right have further information on this.
